October is in full swing, which can only mean one thing β itβs pumpkin picking season!
You guys know how much I love fresh, seasonal produce. So you can imagine my excitement when my boyfriend and I arrived at Hewittβs Farm and were greeted with rows upon rows of every type of squash you can imagine β including the hugest pumpkins!

We had the best time strolling through the pumpkin patch, admiring all the different shapes and sizes. My boyfriend was on the hunt for the most majestic specimen, but I have a soft spot for the small, bumpy ones!

Of course, I ended up falling in love with a huge, slightly squished pumpkin β I just had to have it. Now to figure out the most creative carving idea in time for Halloween night β Iβm determined to beat my boyfriend this year!

One thing I wasnβt expecting to find was the highly sought-after kabocha squash β itβs an essential in Japanese cooking and is notoriously hard to find in the UK. Iβve been majorly craving pumpkin korroke lately, so we were thrilled to pick up a perfect kabocha for less than Β£2!

From now on Iβll be making a point to visit Hewittβs Farm every season, to take advantage of their huge selection of fresh produce. If you donβt feel like picking your own, they have a fully-stocked farm shop with an array of fruits and vegetables gathered that morning.
Make sure to bring plenty of cash and a few strong bags to hold your produce β I guarantee you wonβt be leaving empty-handed!
Iβm a firm believer in celebrating each season, and I canβt think of a better way to honour the month of October than a visit to the local pumpkin patch. I feel so grounded and content when I make the effort to be mindful and truly appreciative of the little things in life, and Iβm so grateful for these chilly autumn days.
Halloween, Iβm ready for you!
